Days 9-13 | Long Island Family Photographer
When you're shooting a 365 project (or 366 in this case!), you will eventually come to realize that not every day is going to be a great day for shots. Some days are good, some are repeats (I am guilty of taking way to many ipad shots and tubby photos) and some are just ok. It doesn't necessarily matter - every photo is another opportunity to figure out what you did wrong and how you can learn from it.
Today however was one of those exceptional days. A great day where as soon as I uploaded it to the computer, I knew it had to be printed... BIG.
This is the kind of photo that makes me so freaking happy to do what I do. My husband is the kind of dude that is too cool to have his photo taken. He doesn't like to cooperate and normally thinks I purposely make him look silly (He does it all on his own guys...).
So while my husband was working on my rear brakes, I stumbled on this perfect moment between them. THIS..... This is exactly them. Can you see how much they adore each other? This to me is as close to perfect as it gets... Perfect little moments like this NEED to be preserved and remembered.
The next day, we had what seemed like a monsoon. The rain was insane. I can't explain why, but I love heavy rain. I love running out in it and getting drenched. Normally January is not exactly ideal to do this kind of thing, but with another random 60 degree day, why not? Olivia shares my love of the rain and loves to jump and splash around in the puddles. After this shot, we both got hit with a huge gust of wind and fell into a large puddle. Awesome time!
Days 11-13. It's been freezing, so we've been home bound after work and school. I seriously feel like the winter blues have been here for a while now. It kind of stinks to go to work in the dark and come home in it too. Olivia said something today like "Mommy, I miss the Summer sun". Me too, Olivia. ME TOO!!!
